April 26, 2019—Congratulations to Ludwig Oxford’s Mads Gyrd-Hansen, whose Senior Research Fellowship has been renewed by the Wellcome Trust. This > £1 million five-year award will support the continuation of his research into ubiquitin signalling in immune responses.
The Gyrd-Hansen group will build on their previous investigations into the enzyme complex, LUBAC, which joins together ubiquitin molecules so that they form linear chains. These chains are important for the regulation of immune responses. Renewal of the Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship will allow further research into the physiological function of LUBAC to gain an enhanced understanding of the role of ubiquitin chains in controlling the immune response.
